I became a fan on February 26, 1983, the night when Carola made her fabulous debut in Melodifestivalen with "Främling". I got the album Främling that summer, on my eight birthday. That album means alot to me since it is the first album I owned. When we went on trip in second grade we had a party and the Främling album was played again and again!

When the Steg för steg album was released, me and my friend often listen to that album also the first album. You can easily guess how tired our parents was of Carola!!

When Carola got a rougher style in 1986 when Runaway was released many girls in my class stopped being a fan of her, including myself. I remember I felt betrayed, Carola should do bubblegum pop, and not AOR from USA! I can only laugh at it today... :-D Now I think Runaway is one of the best albums Carola has ever done!

When Carola began to work with Per-Erik Hallin – they did a Scandinavian tour with Christian songs and the I Rättviks kyrka-album together – my interest for Carola fainted away. She joined the unorthodox church of Livets Ord and she quit singing professionally. In the summer of 1989 I copied the single cassette, Steg för steg, Happy days and På egna ben from my cousin and listened to these albums all summer... I found the Runaway album on sale, and I played it alot too that summer. :-D

I continued listening to the albums all the following autumn and winter, and you can guess I was ecstatic when I found out that Carola would be participating in Melodifestivalen in 1990! My interest in her started to grow rapidly again, and it have never fainted away since... ;-)
